Student Union

The Student Union is the high school's student government. With about 50 members, that consists of class officers and representatives from extracurricular clubs. Elections for freshman are held at the beginning of the year. In the Spring, vote for class officers for the following year. If you are elected a class officer you are given the option of taking the Student Union leadership class as a third hour elective.

The Student Union's primary function is to act as a coordinating body for student activities and organizations. It sets dance dates and sponsorship, grants concession responsibilities, runs assemblies, facilitates Homecoming elections, organize Spirit Week and Spring Fever Week activities and other activities throughout the year. It also serves as a sounding board for student and staff concerns.

Student Union decides which charity the money they make on events goes towards. They are also in charge of going through the budget requests for the school. The annual magazine drive is the group's major fund-raising project.

Student Union meets about once a month. Daily announcements will usually say when a meeting is coming up.
