Camp Outlook

Camp Outlook is a two-day experience where students develop team building and communication skills. Approximately 60 students and 15 staff members will participate in leadership building activities in early November. Students are invited to attend Camp Outlook based on leadership potential, with the goal that this group will represent the diverse interests and backgrounds of the student population at Dow High.

While at Camp Outlook, students work as a team to conquer physical challenges on the C.O.P.E. course where obstacles cannot be overcome without the help of teammates. The students participate in communication training sessions as well.

During these sessions they are given opportunities to discuss topics of their choice while practicing communications strategies and gaining fellowship with students they may not have known at Dow High.

Camp Outlook participants return to school ready to apply what they have learned by working together and respecting different points of view. Over the years these students have made a real difference in the school climate at H.H. Dow High. The majority of the funding for this project is provided through fund-raising events such as the Charger Family BBQ, sports concessions, and Student Union activities.
