1. Attention all NHS members the monthly meeting has been changed from the 2nd Thursday to this Thursday due to Valentine’s Day. The Roses / Carnations fundraiser and other events you wonderful people must be informed on will be discussed. So get pumped to attend in the Little Theater at 7:10 AM or 2:35 PM. 2. Attention all you lovely people of DHS, flower sales commence starting TODAY at both lunches. Make sure you know the class of the recipient of the flower. Carnations cost $1 and Roses cost $2. Send a flower to someone you care about.
3. Attention sophomores and juniors: are you interested in “Getting the Edge” on your future? The BAISD Career Center offers programs in which you can earn high school credit, college credits, and professional certifications. If you would like to visit BAISD on Friday, February 3, please contact Mrs. Helling by Tuesday, January 31st.
4. Anyone interested in playing Girls JV tennis this coming season we will have an organizational meeting on Wednesday after school in Mr. Turner’s room.
5. There will be a Habitat for Humanity meeting on Tuesday, January 31 after 7th hour in Mrs. Martin’s room–324. Come join us–everyone is welcome!!!!
6. ATTENTION JUNIORS interested in co-oping next year. There will be a short mandatory meeting this Thursday at the beginning of sixth hour to get information you need in order to be able to co-op your senior year. Hope to see many of you there.

9. Congratulations to the DHS debate team who had a great ending to the season this past weekend. Congratulations to the whole team for an outstanding season. Our final practice will be on Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.
10. Attention Ren Fair performers. We will be having a MANDATORY meeting to discuss performance and rehearsal order and requirements this Thursday, Feb. 2nd from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Dow theatre. Each Act, INCLUDING School groups, must send ONE representative to this meeting. If you have questions contact Mrs. Bushey.
11. Hey Alpine Club! We are trying to plan a trip to Shanty Creek on Saturday, February 11th! Again, that’s Saturday, February 11th! If there aren’t at least 10 people interested in going, we won’t be able to go SO if you’re interested, you MUST consult Mrs. Meitler and have the forms filled out by this Thursday’s meeting. ALSO….We will be voting on an idea for purchasing fleeces at the meeting, so it’s really important that you’re all there! See you then! Remember, new members are always welcome to join the coolest club at Dow High.
12. The varsity competitive cheer team competed at the Northville Invitational on Saturday. Among very strong competition, the team placed 7th of 14. Livonia Stevenson won with 759.7240 points. Dow scored a season high 708.1788 points. Dow also posted season high scores for rounds 2 and 3. Great job, ladies! The varsity record currently stands at 18 and 7. Dow JV and varsity cheer teams compete next this Thursday at the Dow Classic beginning at 6pm. Come on out and watch the Dow Chargers take on Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Bay City Central, and Saginaw Heritage! Go Chargers!
13. Attention senior siblings!
If you want to be on the sibling page in the yearbook, photos will be taken on Thursday, February 2nd after 6th and 7th hour in the Cafeteria. This will be your only opportunity to have your pictures taken for this page so bring your brothers and sisters and we’ll see you there.
14. The boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Saginaw Heritage last Friday by a score of 57 to 50. Brandon Bowser led the Chargers with 13 points and 9 rebounds. The Chargers travel to Bay City Western for a game on Tuesday.
15. Congratulations to Dow High Varsity and JV Pom teams who competed in the Mid-American Pompon Regional competition on Saturday. BOTH teams received scores in the highest performance bracket, advancing them to the Class A/Division I STATE Championship.

16. The Charger hockey team played twice this weekend and came away with 2 victories.
On Friday, we defeated the Kalamazoo Blades by a score of 9-2.
On Saturday, we defeated the Kalamazoo Eagles; 5-3. The Chargers’ next home game is this Wednesday against Mt. Pleasant.
